Red XL | You Will Hate This Thing

Red XLThe RED XL is an infomercial fitness product that works your abs and obliques through rotation on the platform. As you can imagine, I hate it.

I will give them credit for one thing though. Most all fitness infomercial products only work the abs and they leave out the obliques, leaving you susceptible to love handles. Other than that I completely hate it.

Here’s the reasons why I hate it:

1. It’s cheaply-made as I expected. It’s very low to the ground, so unless you’re 5’6 or shorter it’s going to be uncomfortable. The handles get loose after simply a couple uses. As you can see from the picture, they’re screwed on which explains the reason why they get loose easily.

I’m apparently not the only one who experienced “loose handles.” A customer from Walmart.com had this to say:

A waste of time and money. The handles kept coming off and it has absolutely no resistance.

“A waste of time and money. The handles kept coming off and it has absolutely no resistance.”

2. No resistance. Oh my gosh. Now this is the biggest problem because you’re using a piece of workout equipment and YOU’RE NOT GETTING A WORKOUT! Just as with my first issue, I agree with the Walmart customer again. Unless you’re extremely out of shape, you will not feel any resistance. I really don’t think core exercises like this should even work with resistance. You really need to use weights instead. I use a machine at my gym that uses weights instead of resistance and I get a much better workout. On that note. Even if you’re out of shape, the Red XL will get easy very quickly; especially since there’s not very much resistance options.

Red XL I was actually kind of hopeful about the Red XL when I first saw the infomercial years ago because it worked the abdominals and the obliques, but it just simply doesn’t cut it. It goes into the collection of other fitness infomercial scams.

I spent several years doing all kinds of ab workouts and nothing ever worked until I sat down and figured out exactly what the abs require to get cut, lean, and ripped. Theirs a number of books out there and I’ve read most of them and the ones at the bookstore are all recycled garbage. The only book I ever read that actually worked and gave me information I’ve never heard of before was Ab Truths. I was skeptical until I started seeing results.

Get educated before you hit the gym and definitely before you buy crappy infomercial equipment.
